I know this poem isn’t up to your standard Dan and some lines don’t even rhythm, I had a book on poetry from your house but it hasn’t done me much good. Still miss you babe and hope you enjoy your first Angel Birthday. xxxx
A Really Good Friend
As I sit here on this sunny day
I know you that you are here and haven’t gone away
I look at your photos and remember your laugh
But not seeing you here just tears me apart.
The birds still sing and the wind still blows
Life goes on as if nobody knows
That my best friend is not here to say
“I’ll see you soon babe I’m on my way”
Just take my hand when it’s my turn to go
And lead me to the place you know

Today you should be celebrating yet another year
With your close friends that you held to your heart so dear.
This time last year I helped plan your special day
I’m glad you had your favourites there to celebrate in their own special way.
This year will be different; I can’t buy you a birthday card
But I will think of you in heaven and that’s gonna be really hard.
So enjoy your day with the angels, who I know will celebrate with you
